Epidarex Expands Team

We are pleased to welcome Terri Burke to the Epidarex team.  Terri joins the Epidarex transatlantic team as a Venture Partner and will focus on developing and executing our upcoming funds’ MedTech strategy.  From her base in the U.S., Terri will be sourcing new investment opportunities through her global network, leading diligence efforts in both the U.S. and U.K. and partnering with the team to execute on Epidarex’s strategy to build successful life science companies.

Terri has more than 20 years of healthcare industry experience working with and evaluating innovative technologies in complex, worldwide markets.  She currently serves as CEO for an emerging medical device start-up company.  Prior to this, Terri was a member of the Senior Leadership Team at Edwards Lifesciences and held multiple positions in the >$800M heart valve business.  Her roles included Vice President overseeing an R&D technical development program; Vice President of Global Marketing, and Vice President of Business Development, where she led several strategic acquisitions including Harpoon Medical in which Epidarex was the lead investor.

Terri has adeptly managed the strategic positioning of a 40+ product portfolio, including launching numerous new products into worldwide markets, creating new product categories, delivering brand re-inventions, developing pipeline strategy and retiring products.  Terri has prior experience as an investment professional in venture capital, a consultant for biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies in health economics with Covance Health Economics and Outcomes Services, and as a product marketer with Guidant Corporation.

Terri currently serves on the executive committee for the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign in Los Angeles and co-chairs Circle of Red individual giving.  She is an active member of MedtechWOMEN and serves on the annual Organizing Committee.  Terri also participates in the Duke Women’s Impact Network Athletics Leadership Committee and recently, she successfully co-led the first-ever capital campaign for a women’s Olympic sport (field hockey) at Duke.  Terri holds a B.S. in Biology from Duke University and an MBA from the University of Southern California.
